Question 3;
ReplyDeleteI think Diego and his mother's relationship is problematic because when Diego tried to tell his mom about what Mac did to him his mom didn't want to believe him and Diego kind of resents her for that. Because she never did anything about it.
Diego feels like it was his fault for being raped because he feels like he should have done something to stop Mac. Diego feels like he should have seen the signs and tried to stop Mac before anything happened. That is why he blames himself for being raped, because he trusted Mac at first and thinks he should have done something, anything,to stop him.

ReplyDeleteJulian question 1
ReplyDeleteI think that Diego blames himself for being rape was because he couldn't stop Mac. And that i think Diego felt blind as a kid because he never had a father figure in the first place and he let that get the best of him, instead of doing anything like telling the police or other family members about his situation.
I think that Diego felt if he would have stopped him his life wouldn't be so missed up. And he wouldn't be ashamed of friends calling him gay when he is not and he would be able to control his anger more.
