I think Diego's attack towards Guerrero was justified because it was not Diego's fault that he attacked him. Guerreo intentionally provoked him knowing that Diego's temper could get the better of him. Diego was also the bigger man and ignored him and walked away but Guerreo still continued to taunt him even he knew Diego did not being liked called gay.
1. In my opinion I think he felt both things. He felt happy because he felt that if he was in juvie he could cause no harm to anyone around him. He also felt sad because he wouldn't be able to see Ariel, and he wouldn't be able to protect Eddie. 2. I think that Diego was justified when he attacked Guerrero. I believe this because Guerrero knew about Diego's anger problem but continued to push his buttons.
1. i think he felt relief because if he was locked up then he would have time to himself to think and reflect on his actions. i also think he felt sad because being locked up meant that he wouldn't be able to take care of his little brother eddie and he wouldn't want eddie to think getting locked up was okay
1. In my opinion its both he was relived because if he was in jail he wouldn't be able to hurt anyone he loves. On the other hand he felt sad because he promised his mom he would try to control his temper and also because eddie loves him and he knew he was gonna miss him and he would miss him and Ariel.
2. To me i think Guerrero had it coming. If it wasn't Diego it was gonna be someone soon. To me i think Diego just couldn't take Guerrero's "playing around" anymore. He knew Diego was on probation but he still pushed him to do the wrong thing. On the other hand i think he was wrong for letting Guerrero get the best of him.
Julian question 1 I think Diego felt glad to be in juvie for a little while. Because he got the feeling that he was safe. When Diego stated in the book," I felt like they weren't keeping me in they were keeping people out." When he said that that shows that he felt like all his problems couldn't reach him though the locked doors.

He feels like it was his fault because he thinks that there was something he can do to prevent it.
